“Who made you king?” Crow called up to Hawk.
Hawk peered down at Crow. “I can fly the highest and fastest.”
Crow cackled. “Really? Fly to the farmer’s house and steal
his watch.”
Hawk took flight. When he flew out of the fireplace the
farmer’s wife hit him with a skillet.
Moral: Pride goes
before a fall.
Silly hawk for taking advice from a crow. Clearly it didn't read fables about the untrustworthiness of crows when it was still in down feathers.
ReplyDeleteSo true! 😁
DeleteDarn Crow! The frying pan was a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteFrying pan. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHah! Splat with the frying pan. Great story for that moral.
ReplyDeleteSilly Hawk. Should've known when the crow "cackled". Love the choice of that verb.
ReplyDeleteNice ending!
ReplyDeleteSkillet, lol! Silly hawk. Shouldn't have deals with crows.
ReplyDeleteCrows are excellent thieves so Hawk should have known that if it could be stolen, Crow would already have it!
ReplyDeleteHaha great ending! Actually, great story in general, but ending was bang on :)
